Never had a website before?

Then this bit is for you. These are the six questions nearly everyone asks us first, answered the way we'd answer them on the phone.

What is a website, really?

A few pages that live on the internet at your own address, like yourbakery.co.uk. People find it on Google or from your card or van, and it tells them what you do, what it costs, and how to reach you.

What do I have to do?

Tell us about your business, send any photos or words you already have, and look at what we make and say what you think. Usually about an hour of your time in total. Everything else is ours.

What am I paying for?

One affordable price to build it, agreed in writing before we start. After that a small yearly cost to keep your address and keep it online, a few pounds a month. We tell you both numbers up front.

How long does it take?

Most small business websites take two to four weeks from your first message. A shop or a booking system takes a bit longer. We give you a date, not a vague promise.

What if I don't like it?

You see it while we're building it, not at the end. You ask for changes, we make them. Nothing goes live to the public until you say you're happy with it.

What if it breaks later?

Email us. Anything broken in the first 30 days after launch, we fix free. After that we can look after it for a set monthly amount, or you can leave it with us on call.

Three words people throw at you

Domain
Your address on the internet: the yourbakery.co.uk bit. You rent it yearly, and it's in your name, not ours.
Hosting
The computer that keeps your website switched on. Somebody has to pay a little each month for that. Usually us, billed on to you at cost.
CMS
A simple screen where you change your own text, prices and photos, without touching any code. We show you how to use it.

That's genuinely all the vocabulary you need. If we ever use a word you don't know, ask us. We've explained it badly.

How it works

Three steps. You don't need to know anything technical. That's our job.

  1. You tell us what you need

Fill in a short form or send us an email. Describe it however makes sense to you. "I run a bakery and I need people to find me and order cakes" is a perfect brief.

  2. We send you a plan and a price

Within one working day you get a written plan: what we'll build, what it costs, and when it'll be finished. One affordable price. If it's not right for you, that's fine. There's nothing to pay and no pressure.

  3. We build it and put it online

You see it as it comes together and can ask for changes. When you're happy, we put it live, show you how to update it yourself, and stay available if you need us.

Not sure which of these you need? That's normal. Just describe the problem and we'll work it out with you.

What we can build for you

Most requests look like one of these. Pick the closest and we'll take it from there.

Not on the list? Ask us anyway.

Websites are most of what we do, not all of it. An old system nobody understands. A spreadsheet that has turned into a monster. Two bits of software that refuse to talk to each other. An idea you can't quite put into words yet. Bring us any of it. If we can solve it we will, and if someone else is a better fit we'll say so and point you at them.

And if you'd rather learn than hand it over, we teach too: patiently, one to one, in easy English, until you can do it without us.

  • Free to ask, always
  • An honest answer, even if it's "you don't need us"
  • No sales call unless you want one
  • We'll teach you instead, if you'd prefer

What we promise you

Just clear, simple advice

We explain things in normal words. If we ever use a term you don't know, ask. We'll have explained it badly.

One price, agreed up front

You know the full cost before any work starts. No surprise invoices, no hourly meter running.

You own it

The website, the design, the domain, the content: all yours. You can take it elsewhere any time.

Works on every phone

Most people will visit your site on a phone. We build for that first, then make it look right on laptops too.

Usable by everyone

Including people with poor eyesight or who can't use a mouse. It's the right thing to do, and it's the law in most places.

You can update it yourself

We show you how to change your own text, prices and photos. If you'd rather we did it, we can do that too.

What changed for them

Three real jobs, and what was different afterwards. The full stories, including the ones with no tidy number at the end, are on our work page.

  • 11s → 2s

An online shop that took eleven seconds to open on a phone now opens in under two. Half as many people give up before they see a product.

    Online shop · speed fix
  • 2 in 3

Cake orders that used to come by phone during the morning rush now arrive online, most of them after closing time. Nothing missed since launch.

    Family bakery · online shop
  • Bill halved

A hosting bill that had tripled in a year came down by more than half, with nothing switched off that anybody was actually using.

    Growing business · cloud costs

We also do the heavy engineering

If you have an in-house team, or systems that need to stay online no matter what, we do that side too: hosting, security, keeping large systems running, and cutting cloud bills. Same easy-English approach, bigger machinery behind it.
